Real Life Stories
Stories, poems, and articles from the unit members. Organized into topics and no particular order they are “real life” submissions of stories as remembered by the author.
These actions and events were witnessed or experienced by young men, mostly in the 18-25 year old range. Even the senior officers and NCOs of the unit were in their late 20s or earlier 30s. These events had an impact and sometimes that impact was not noted until years later. Some of these events are burned into our memory and we remember them vividly, others take effort to recall.
So remember as you browse through here, these stories were written by much older men, now in their 60s, 70s, or 80s. The memory may have faded some, but the impact these events had on us will live on forever. Brave men going in harm’s way.
